Now, I’m a cake fan (who isn’t?) and I’ve even been known to venture into the kitchen with the kids to do a spot of baking (although I don’t think chocolate rice krispy cakes count do they?) Anyway, over the last few years we’ve been shooting weddings I’ve seen plenty, so I thought I’d share with you a little slideshow of some of the wonderful confections we’ve had the pleasure of photographing (though not, unfortunately, eating). Check out some of the detailing – real works of art. Hopefully it may inspire a few brides and grooms who are having patisserie dilemmas…
We love cupcakes, and these ones at Debbie & Jonathan’s wedding were beautiful. Note the mini Victoria sponges – yum…

A gorgeous square cake from Sally & Mike’s recent wedding. The flowers on this cake were especially stunning

A favourite from last year – the icing pattern on Yvette & Chris’s cake was designed to match the lace on her dress. I love that attention to detail!!

We loved Kelly & Lee’s beautiful birdcage (butterfly cage??) style cake which matched their table centrepieces.

Louise & Rob’s cake from a few months ago was a triumph of sparkly elegance!! (sorry, getting carried away now…)

Jenny and Ari’s chocolate and strawberry creation was amazing. The smell of it had me drooling like Homer Simpson (this is, of course, a good thing)

I’m off now to raid the cupboard for a sugar hit. I fear a stale chocolate Hobnob may be my only reward. Anyway here are a few more cakes from the past year or so. Enjoy!
