The Old Deanery – Ripon

As you can imagine our work takes around the country  to some beautiful places and we get to meet so great and interesting people along the way. We are also on the look out for new locations and one we came across yesterday was the ‘The Old Deanery’ in Ripon North Yorkshire. The Old Deanery was built in 1625 on the site of part of the former monastery of St Wilfred, for use by the Canon-in-Residence and is opposite  Ripon Cathedral. It was taken over by Linda last year and has 11 beautifully fitted bedrooms and a fine restaurants that has been voted one of the best in North Yorkshire.

The location and building make this a unique and attractive venue for weddings. Check out their website by clicking here  www.theolddeanery.co.uk

Sally & Sam: Wedding 26th April 2009

sasablog10

We had a really great day on Sunday at Sally and Sam’s wedding. The weather was amazing, although Sam’s family found it a bit chilly – they had travelled over from Chennai in India so they were used to it being a tad warmer!

We were very excited that the wedding was at the beautiful Wentbridge House Hotel near Pontefract, as this is where Lou and I had our wedding reception thirteen years ago. It was great to be back and the hotel was still as special as we remembered it.

It was a double celebration for Sally and Sam and their families as they also had a naming ceremony straight after the wedding for their little boy. He was such a cutie and a real star throughout the day.

Sally and Sam, it was a pleasure spending your wedding day with you and your families. Here’s to a very happy future!

Helen & Dan: Wedding 11th April 2009

hedablog-009

We had a fantastic wedding to cover on a gorgeous Easter Saturday for Helen & Dan. They were marrying at one of our fave venues, Woodlands Hotel and it really felt as if spring had sprung at last.

I spent the morning at the hotel with Helen for her preparations and Lou joined Dan and his entourage who were enjoying a big breakfast in a great little cafe close to their home (Lou even sneaked a bacon sarnie she tells me).

Everyone then met up for the ceremony at Woodlands. Helen made a stunning bride and Dan scrubbed up pretty well too!

The spring sunshine meant everyone was able to relax a bit outside after the ceremony which made for some lovely chilled out photos. After that it was into the marquee for the wedding breakfast. Helen and Dan had chosen purple tulips for their flowers, which continued the spring feel to the day. The marquee looked beautiful with the elegant arrangements in purple and ivory.

Helen and Dan, we had a great day with you and your guests. Thank you for asking us to be there!

Anoushka & David: Pre-Wedding Shoot 4th April 2009

andablog01

My next pre wedding shoot was at Yorkshire Sculpture Park with Anoushka and David. We’re really looking forward to their wedding in June, particularly as they’re incorporating some Sri Lankan elements and traditions into their day. It’s something new for us and we’re very excited about getting some amazing pictures of the celebrations.
