Helen & Stephen: Wedding 8th November 2008

It was another crisp autumn day for Helen & Stephen’s wedding last week, and the beautiful colours of the leaves made some gorgeous backdrops for the photos.

Helen & Stephen’s ceremony took place at Hartshead Church – a lovely little church right on top of a hill with some breathtaking views. Afterwards it was a short trip back down to Woodlands Hotel for the reception. The wind had picked up a bit by the time we got there, and Helen’s stunning long veil began to get a life of it own! Made for some fun pictures, though. Although it was a bit on the nippy side, Helen and Stephen were great sports and were keen to venture outside for some couple shots, and I’m so glad they did as the autumn sun gave us some beautiful light.

Being so close to bonfire night, of course there were fireworks in the evening. An amazing end to a great day.

Helen & Stephen, thank you for including us in your plans – we were so happy to be there.

Bridal Rogue Gallery – Events Day 14th November

Being in the wedding industry we tend to come into contact with lots of other suppliers. One of our favourites is Bridal Rogue Gallery, a bridalwear boutique in York & London. All of the stunning gowns are created by Catriona Dowse, an amazing designer who we’ve worked with before.

Their York boutique has just been refurbished, and to celebrate the relaunch they’re having a day of events this coming Friday for brides to be. A few select suppliers will be there too (including Phil Barber Photography!!) so if anyone wants to see some stunning creations and get excited about weddings then do come along. An appointment is recommended as space is limited. Contact Julie or Tracey on 01904 656675

It would be great to see you there!

Woodlands Wedding Fair

We had the pleasure of photographing Helen & Stephen’s wedding on Saturday – I’ll blog some pictures in the next few days. It was another Woodlands wedding, and we were back again there yesterday for the wedding fair (I’m thinking of renting a room on a permanent basis – I seem to be there so often at the moment!!)

Anyway, as always we had a great day there. Unfortunately Lou was unable to join me this time as she had Remembrance Day parade duties with our daughter, so I had to hold the fort by myself. This was no mean feat as it was so busy! I think I managed to speak to most people – hello to everyone I met, and thank you for stopping to chat with me!

Anyway, Catherine the wedding coordinator did a great job organising everything. This was our last wedding fair of the year – it all starts again in the new year. Roll on 2009!!

Sarah & Andy: Wedding 26th October 2008

Autumn felt as if it had truly arrived at Sarah & Andy’s wedding. For a start the clocks went back the night before, so we had an extra hour’s rest after Kelly & Lee’s wedding the day before, which was very nice! It did mean, however, that we lost the light that much earlier which meant we had to be a bit more creative. Sarah and Andy had planned their day to perfection, though, and all the autumnal colours were a joy to photograph.

After a ceremony at St. Anne’s Cathedral in Leeds (stunning, just stunning. If anyone out there reading this is planning on getting married there PLEASE give us a call!!!) we headed off to Bagden Hall Hotel for the reception. Pumpkins, candles and sparklers set the mood and everyone had an amazing time.

Sarah & Andy, you were both a joy to work with, and we wish you every happiness for your life together.

Kelly & Lee: Wedding 25th October 2008

We had a busy weekend 25th/26th October with back to back weddings. First up was Kelly & Lee. I spent the morning with Kelly at the Great Victoria hotel in Bradford. Lou covered the boys’ preparations and was plied with bacon butties by Lee’s mum!

The ceremony took place at St. Paul’s church in Drighlington – it’s the second time we’ve been there in as many months, and once again we managed to get some great shots during the service.

Afterwards we were back to Woodlands Hotel for the reception where the party really got going.

It was such a great day. Kelly and Lee – congratulations to you both – it was a honour to be part of your day.
