Development for 2009 – The Future

We are now looking forward to 2009 and some great developments within Phil Barber Photography that we are really excited about. As mentioned we have been asked to do some speaking next year and we are looking to take that further with some of our own in house training. Over the winter we will be putting together some small informal days covering several aspects of photography.

Also we are looking to change the look and feel of the company – We are currently exploring the Phil Barber Photography brand with some very creative people at Yellow Jelly. We spent yesterday with Mark & Jane looking at lots of different aspects of the business. It is really difficult sometimes looking at it from the inside so if any of you guys out there have any views or comments we should consider for 2009 then please feel free to post some.

Phil Barber Photography 2009 ??

This is what the inside of my brain looks like if anybody is interested:-) !!

All About Weddings: Course 8th June – 10th June 2009

We have had some great news last week – I have been asked to be a speaker for the fabulous Annabel Williams Studio which is based at Staveley in the Lake District. A few years ago these inspirational people helped Lou and me develop our business into what it is today, so I was honoured & excited that they asked us to be one of their trainers next year.

This course is called ‘All About Weddings’ and will be a fantastic event that will show you how to raise your game when it comes to the complete wedding package.

The course is over 3 days covering Marketing – PreWedding Photography & Wedding Photography – Sales.

I will be speaking on the middle day and will cover the importance of the Pre-Wedding shoot and using it to build up your relationship and trust with the client. Also we will go out and capture some great images which will be an invaluable resource for the development of your business.

For full details click on this COURSE DETAILS link.

If you are interested in attending the course then contact the studio direct. It would be great some of you guys there.

Helen & Stephen: Wedding 8th November 2008

It was another crisp autumn day for Helen & Stephen’s wedding last week, and the beautiful colours of the leaves made some gorgeous backdrops for the photos.

Helen & Stephen’s ceremony took place at Hartshead Church – a lovely little church right on top of a hill with some breathtaking views. Afterwards it was a short trip back down to Woodlands Hotel for the reception. The wind had picked up a bit by the time we got there, and Helen’s stunning long veil began to get a life of it own! Made for some fun pictures, though. Although it was a bit on the nippy side, Helen and Stephen were great sports and were keen to venture outside for some couple shots, and I’m so glad they did as the autumn sun gave us some beautiful light.

Being so close to bonfire night, of course there were fireworks in the evening. An amazing end to a great day.

Helen & Stephen, thank you for including us in your plans – we were so happy to be there.

Phil & Lou xx

Bridal Rogue Gallery – Events Day 14th November

Being in the wedding industry we tend to come into contact with lots of other suppliers. One of our favourites is Bridal Rogue Gallery, a bridalwear boutique in York & London. All of the stunning gowns are created by Catriona Dowse, an amazing designer who we’ve worked with before.

Their York boutique has just been refurbished, and to celebrate the relaunch they’re having a day of events this coming Friday for brides to be. A few select suppliers will be there too (including Phil Barber Photography!!) so if anyone wants to see some stunning creations and get excited about weddings then do come along. An appointment is recommended as space is limited. Contact Julie or Tracey on 01904 656675

It would be great to see you there!
