Imogen & Travis: Wedding 15th June 2008

Our second wedding this weekend was Imogen and Travis’s. This was a slightly different experience for us, as Imogen and Travis live in Sydney (yes, the big one in Australia!) and so although we’ve spoken over the phone a few times, I only met them for the first time last week. Unfortunately for us they were getting married over here where Imogen is from, so no trips down under for Lou and me!!!

It must have been so difficult for Imogen & Travis to organise everything from so far away, but they did a wonderful job. After a lovely ceremony at Monk Fryston church it was off to Hazlewood Castle for the reception. Although the weather was a little more unpredictable than they’re probably used to, it stayed dry for most of the afternoon and we were able to use the beautiful gardens for some photos.

Imogen and Travis are spending their honeymoon in Argentina before heading back to Australia. Guys, it was great to finally meet you both and thank you for asking us to share your special day.

Sarah & Andrew: Wedding 14th June 2008

We had a double header at the weekend – weddings on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday we were down in Bolsover in Derbyshire for Sarah & Andrew’s wedding. When Saturday dawned the weather was looking decidedly dodgy!! In fact when I was with Sarah at her parents’ home for the preparations, the sky couldn’t have looked more ominous. But when everyone got to the church for the ceremony, blue skies prevailed and stayed for the rest of the day, making for some amazing pictures.

After the beautiful and very personal ceremony, everyone walked the short distance to the reception at Bolsover Castle, a stunning English Heritage property with gorgeous historical features around every corner. It was a privilege to be able to take photographs there, although we had to sign agreements promising not to touch the original Jacobean panelling (as if we would ever do such a thing!!!) As the sun set over the Derbyshire countryside the sky rewarded us again with an amazing sunset – a wonderful end to a great day.

Sarah and Andrew were an absolute pleasure to work with, and we had a fantastic time working with them. We’d like to wish you both lots of happiness for the future.

mmmhhhh! iPhone

I’m not usually obsessed with gadgets. Although Lou will probably tell you differently!  I almost got the original iPhone when it came out last autumn but was unsure about it not being 3G and also the cost. These issues have now been resolved. Also my contract with O2 is up so July 11th can’t come soon enough. I justify it to Lou by saying it will fully integrate with all our other Mac’s ( Email / Calendars / Contacts etc) Free WiFi. She justs looks at me with those disapproving eyes. If you want to buy yourself a new shiny toy then you buy your new shiny toy. I love you Lou. Thank you for putting up with my weakness of shiny toys. I will post when I have one but in the meantime watch the new teaser advert. Click on the image below.

Helen & Wayne: Wedding 7th June 2008

On Saturday we had the pleasure of photographing Helen & Wayne’s wedding. This time we ventured across he pennines to Manchester and the gorgeous Great John St. Hotel. I started out with Helen getting ready at the hotel while Lou was with the Wayne and his entourage at their home – they travelled into the centre of Manchester by tram which made for some really great photo opportunities (and a bit of staring from fellow passengers!!)

We all came together for a beautiful intimate ceremony at the hotel, and then a fabulously relaxed outdoor reception on the rooftop terrace.

The icing on the cake came when we ventured just across the road from the hotel to Granada Studios. We were lucky enough to get permission to take a few photos on the set of Coronation Street, which was surreal to say the least!

Helen and Wayne are such a great couple, and a joy to work with. Thank you so much, guys for inviting us to be your personal paparazzi!! We had a fantastic day and look forward to seeing you when you get back from Thailand….
